Day 4 - I am broken

I made it back to the hostel to find a new set of refugees had arrived and replaced a previous set.  This new set had just arrived from Busan and wanted me to walk to the tower with them.  Considering I had already walked there and back, I declined.

I took off my sandals and braced for the worst.  I figured I would have a number of blisters that would need attention.  Surprisingly, my feet looked great considering the wear of the day.  The GPS clocked me at 38 kilometers after subtracting the subway travel.  That's 24 miles.  That is a testament to how amazing Keen sandals are.  I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Still, I was sore in general.  I was in no condition to leave the hostel again, so I chatted with an American who had just finished studying in Japan for a semester.  He really wanted me to get dinner with him, so I stalled until I was hungry again by doing laundry.  (My Philmont coolmax shirt dried in just ten minutes on the roof!  The Ex Officio Boxers took 45 minutes.  I'll do an entry on packing later so you can see all the goodies I brought.)

There was a Korean restaurant in the building with the hostel, so we went down to the second floor and enjoyed a great Korean meal.  For just 6000 won, I was served a feast.  A huge dolsat bibimbop, kim chee, vegetable chips, picked radishes, and three unidentifiable sides for 5 USD.  What a steal.

I set my alarm for early so I could catch my flight to Taipei and fell asleep around 12:30am.  My first "normal" bedtime!
